About Tierra Traveler
Our operations are headquartered in Livingston, Montana just north of Yellowstone National Park and a half hour from Bozeman. We're passionate about this spectacular area that is the Northern Rocky Mountains and the freedom that campervans afford you. At Tierra Traveler we offer more than just van rentals. Our local knowledge and established partnerships provide our guests with travel insights, itineraries, gear rentals and more. Our three vans — Gaucho, Vaquera and Poncho — were custom-built by our team of woodworkers and fabricators, and are outfitted with all the essential camping gear and cooking equipment you might need....down to hammocks, binoculars and portable audio speakers. Great for the dream trip through Yellowstone. Car performed really well, and had all the fix-ins, which was surprising but nice!

Awesome folks, and awesome van! All my questions were answered right away and upon meeting them and picking up the van I felt comfortable and at ease with my trip. The bed is super comfy, and the interior layout is perfect. The van drives wonderfully and had no issues. They provide just about everything I needed. Highly recommend!!

We had a great experience with Tierra Traveler's Sprinter. Everything was great, including the communication with the owners. The vehicle came with everything it said it would--including cutlery, a portable outdoor grill and folding chairs to sit around the campfire. We did have an issue with the outdoor shower, which didn't work for the last three days of our rental. The owners offered to come and repair it, but we told them we were fine (don't mind getting a little grimy while camping) but otherwise it was a terrific experience. Two thumbs up!

Tierra traveler is amazing. I have traveled and camped a lot in RV and vans and was fairly nervous I wouldn’t get what I expected or worse the value wouldn’t match the cost. Very much not the case. Not only was the van so awesome it had me contemplating just never taking it back but Kinney was so rad too. He thought of everything when building it out and it’s simple enough but also modern enough that you’re comfortable anywhere. She drive like a dream and all her systems worked perfectly. I will try and come back and rent from them again next summer.

An amazing way to get into the outdoors and still have a mattress to sleep on. This van has everything you need to get outdoors and not need to rely on commercial campgrounds. Van runs like a champ and can get you wherever your heart desires.

Unfortunately, my trip had to be cancelled because of COVID-19. However, I want to leave a review based on communication with Tierra Traveler throughout the booking and cancelation process. Kinney was lightening fast with his responses to my questions when booking my travel and made me feel confident in booking with his company. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I’m bummed because my wife and I were really looking forward to spending a few days exploring Yosemite in what looks like an awesome Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. I plan to rebook once the world gets back to whatever the new normal is and we can travel safely again. A++ customer service Kinney - Thank You!

I'm not much of an internet reviewer, but my recent experience with Tierra Traveler has convinced me otherwise. I'm giving Tierra Traveler five stars in every category, only because Outdoorsy won't allow me to give six. A friend and I rented a Sprinter from Tierra for seven days in early March to take a bucket-list kind of ski trip that spanned four ski areas in three states (MT, ID, and WY). The van was gorgeously and thoughtfully designed with wood paneling, dimmable lights, a fridge/freezer, and running water (including hot water!). Tierra provided virtually every van-camping essential you could think of, from Yeti mugs, to a portable fire pit (which was very much appreciated). The interior was quiet, the bed was ridiculously comfortable, the propane heater kept us warm with temperatures down in the teens, the solar panels and electrical system kept all of our electronics charged, and the stove was perfect for making our morning breakfast burritos and coffee. The van itself was easy to drive and we were astounded by the great gas mileage. Tierra Traveler really knocked it out of the park with their conversion and it made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But that's not even the best part -- it's Tierra's customer service that undoubtedly set them apart. The team at Tierra Traveler were excellent to work with, quick to communicate, and trustworthy to a fault. When you're investing a lot of time and money into an experience from a few thousand miles away, that peace of mind is priceless. Kudos to the folks at Tierra and much gratitude. If you ever plan to have a memorable experience in Montana, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to check them out!
